Prof. Tegan Zimmerman (Stephens College, Missouri) will hold a teaching appointment at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Vienna from April to June 2018. She has previously held appointments at Okanagan College, the University of London, and the University of Alberta. She specializes in contemporary women's historical fiction, contemporary gender studies and literary theory. Prof. Zimmerman has published a monograph entitled Writing Back Through Our Mothers: A Transnational Feminist Study on the Woman's Historical Novel, and a second one forthcoming in 2018 titled Matria Redux: The Caribbean in Women's Historical Novels. At U of Vienna, Prof. Zimmerman will offer classes on "The Development of the Francophone Woman's Novel in Canada," "The Postcolonial Caribbean Woman's Historical Novel," and "Contemporary Feminist Theorizing."
